Research focus
My research focuses on contemporary Christian-Jewish dialogue and Comparative Theology and Interreligious Dialogue methodology. My dissertation, Walking with the Wise: Interreligious Dialogue as Relational and Transformative, incorporates oral history research with leading scholars and practitioners in Christian-Jewish dialogue including, John T. Pawlikowski, Mary C. Boys, Eugene Fisher, Michael McGarry, Franklin Sherman, Alice Eckardt, and Celia Deutsch that explores how interreligious friendship informs personal identity and theology.
More broadly, I am interested in the interplay among the grassroots, scholarly and ecclesial spheres of interreligious dialogue, power and gender in dialogue, and the question of what happens “after dialogue.” In other words, how are individuals and communities affected by the dialogical encounter with the other and with other religious communities.
